In Google Analytics you all may see a message at the top of the page or got an email in your gmail account that GA recently launched new Data Retention controls that may influence our data information starting May 25, 2018.
This new component enables us to oversee, how long our user and event data will seize on their servers. According to these settings, from May 25, 2018, Google Analytics will inevitably erase user and event details that are older than the retention period we select.
We get the following options to choose a setting for the retention period:
14 Months
26 Months
38 Months
50 Months
Do not automatically expire
(Note that these settings won't affect reports based on accumulated data and hanges to these settings take effect after 24 hours.)
Likewise, Google will present a new user deletion tool before 25th May, that enables you to deal with the deletion of all data/information related to an individual user from your Google Analytics. This new automated tool will work in light of any of the normal identifiers sent to Analytics Client ID , User ID, or App Instance ID.
